Robbie's Offerings
Robbie teaches several styles of yoga; below are the classes she currently offers.
Yin Yoga Yin yoga is a slow-paced, meditative style of yoga where poses are held for 3 to 7 minutes using props such as bolsters, blocks, and blankets to support the body, allowing muscles to relax. Yin yoga targets deep connective tissues, fascia and ligaments rather than muscles, improving range of motion, joint health and functionality, and calming the nervous system. It serves as a gentle counterpart to active "yang" practices and is great for athletes. Yoga Nidra Yoga Nidra, or "yogic sleep," is a guided meditation practice, which brings about a state of deep relaxation. The practitioner may appear to be asleep, but the conscience is functioning at a deeper level of awareness. The purpose of nidra is to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being through a systematic process of shifting awareness from the external/physical world to the inner self through the koshas. Yin + Nidra w/ Robbie In this 75 minute class, Robbie will guide you through a 45 minute practice with sustained postures supported by props designed to gently stress the joints and remodel the fascia and deep connective tissues throughout the body. Yin yoga works with the myofascial meridian lines of the body to relieve tightness and inflammation, improving range of motion and joint health. The slow, meditative style also brings the mind and body into the parasympathetic nervous system, allowing the endocrine system to return to homeostasis. Robbie finishes the practice with 30 minutes of yoga nidra to facilitate a state of complete relaxation and restoration in the mind and body. It's the perfect way to end your day and prepare your body for an amazing night’s sleep. Vinyasa Flow w/ Robbie This Vinyasa style class combines elements of both Hatha and Vinyasa yoga styles, creating a balanced practice that focuses on alignment, breath, and fluid movement. Robbie incorporates the mindful and deliberate approach of Hatha yoga, emphasizing proper posture for each student’s body and holding poses for a period of time to build strength and flexibility. At the same time, integrating the dynamic flow and breath synchronization characteristic of Vinyasa, ensuring a continuous and rhythmic sequence of movements. Hatha Vinyasa yoga offers practitioners a well-rounded experience, blending the benefits of static postures with the energetic flow, resulting in improved physical awareness, mental clarity, and a sense of harmony between body and breath. Yoga for Golf Becoming a Better Golfer with Yoga Golf is a sport that requires a lot of its players. It’s not only necessary to be strong throughout your body, it requires a decent level of mobility, balance and mental stamina to achieve great results. By regularly practicing yoga as part of your weekly workout routine, you’re able to improve in each of these areas. Golf is as much of a mental game as it is physical. You need the ability to concentrate and focus, have a calm attitude, have a level of awareness, and be present. Yoga as an exercise is incredibly beneficial to golfers. It not only helps to address common problem areas that golfers have, but helps improve your skill set. By working through poses that improve your flexibility, mobility, balance, and core strength – you’re able to get your body in the best position possible to improve your swing. As yoga is also an exercise that focuses on breathing and mindfulness – it can help improve the mental side of the game.
